Calandra Usher

Calandra Usher, born and raised in Northport NY (Long Island), graduated from SUNY Buffalo with a BFA in Sculpture and became a certified K-12 art teacher. She spent a year in the Peace Corps in Ghana, West Africa, teaching art in a deaf school. She and her family lived in Detroit for several years before moving to Charlotte which is where she began writing.

Her four book Urban Paranormal Romance series, The Gospels of Cal'eia, is a somewhat heretical take on the legend of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. As a member and strong advocate of the LGBTQ community, her series includes themes that support any and all lifestyles people choose to live.

But mostly she's a crazy lady (without a blue box) who never intended to be a writer and is delighted to have a new medium to work with, and a way to meet great artists.
